Dean’s Welcome Message

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the School of Distance Education (SDE), Malaysia’s first and leading institution in Open and Distance Learning. Since our establishment in 1971, we have been dedicated to widening access to higher education and empowering working adults to pursue their academic dreams.

As we celebrate 55 years of excellence and innovation, we remain proud of our legacy in transforming lives through accessible and flexible education.

Over the years, more than 30,000 graduates have successfully completed their studies with us. Today, thousands more continue their learning journey from every corner of the country.

At SDE, we take pride in offering flexible, multidisciplinary programmes accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, supported by a team of committed academic and administrative staff. We continuously strive to ensure our students enjoy a meaningful and engaging learning experience, one that blends academic quality with the latest digital technologies.
